Dumsor Must Stop Vigil Was Mere Hype For Some Celebrities Gifty Osei

The much talked – about Dumsor Must Stop vigil that was organized by some celebrities led by Yvonne Nelson, Lydia Forson and Sarkodie has received a lot of mixed feelings among most of our celebrities in our country.

There were so many celebrities who came out to support the cause and called their respective followers to meet them there for the vigil which was held on the 16th of May 2015 at the Legon old road through to Tetteh Quarshie roundabout.

Some of the celebrities including David Oscar, Stonebwoy, Annan Adetey aka Pusher, Mr. Odoi Mensa, Joyce Dzidzor, Laurence Nana Asiamah Hanson aka Bulldog, DJ Lilwyn, Nhyiraba Kojo among others were also of the view that, the Dumsor Must Stop vigil was not necessary since the government of Ghana was already working very hard to fix the problem.

They added that there were some important things they think all the celebrities could have done to help solve or reduce this dumsor situations rather than going on the street to demonstrate.

Speaking to your most authoritative Flex Newspaper, award winning gospel songstress Gifty Osei stated categorically that she thinks that the whole Dumsor Must Stop vigil was a hype kind of thing for some colleague celebrities.

“In fact, to me, I will congratulate the organizers for their smartness, especially Sarkodie and Lydia Forson. They intentionally took that as opportunity to sell their names across the world over and it actually worked out for them. No one could tell me that Lydia Forson and Sarkodia were not party of the organizers who set out that date for the vigil, so what made them left the country a day or two before the vigil itself. This is what is called smartness. They realized that in as much as they were seeking the publicity side of it, some politicians would join the vigil and also make news out of it and that is why they planned to leave the country at that critical hour. I really admire their smartness and I will ask all celebrities to emulate them so their hype does not die before time,” Gifty Osei stated categorically.

Gifty Osei added that, she realized that on the day of the event itself, apart from the main pillars who organized it, some celebrities on facebook who championed the cause of the vigil, were not present at the event.

Some were even hiding behind fears. Gifty claimed that, to her, the vigil did not add anything better to the situation we find ourselves in apart from the hype the celebrities enjoyed. She therefore, threw some advice to the ruling government to be up and doing to make sure that they fix this dumsor problem before our economy come into a stand still.
