No Need To Investigate Mahamas ECOWAS Gaffe NDC MP

Member of Parliament for Lower Manya Krobo, Ebenezer Teye Larbi has downplayed the impact of President Mahama gaffe at the just ended 47th ordinary session of the ECOWAS in Accra.

The president while delivering his speech was stuck in the middle after he discovered the last two pages were missing.

The seemingly confused outgone ECOWAS Chairman had to end the delivery abruptly to demand for the remaining pages which never came.

This has angered a lot of Ghanaians who are demanding the head of President Mahama’s handlers for the embarrassment.

Others including leading members of government are calling for a thorough investigations into the bizarre incident and punish the culprits to serve as a deterrent to others. But Teye Larbi on Asempa FM Wednesday said the unfortunate incident is being blown out of proportion.

In his view, what happened was a blunder and those in charge have learnt their lessons in the bitter way. Lower Manya Krobo said calls to investigate the incident will rather make the issues murkier.

He suggested those in charge of communications at the presidency be more vigilant in the discharge of their duties and let sleeping dogs lie. Teye Larbi however condemned persons who are sharing and making fun of the footage on social media.

“It looks like when someone slips people are happy; It can happen to any human being...,” he stressed.
