FULL VIDEO: Prez Mahama Extemporizes Despite Mishap At Opening of 47th Ordinary Session of ECOWAS

President John Dramani Mahama has officially opened the 47th Ordinary session of ECOWAS, currently ongoing at the Accra International Conference Centre.

The meeting is to elect a new ECOWAS chairman to replace President Mahama who had chaired the authority since March 2014.

The meeting is also expected to discuss security related matters as well as how the Ebola crisis was handled.

Heads of state present include: Presidents Thomas Yayi Boni of Benin, Faure Gnassingbe of Togo, Allasane Outtara of La Cote d’Ivoire, Goodluck Jonathan of Nigeria, Alpha Conde of Guinea, Niger’s Mammadou Issifou, Gambia’s Yahya Jammeh, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf of Liberia, Sierra Leone’s Ernest Bai Koroma, and a host of other leaders or their representatives.

Addressing his fellow heads of state during the opening session however, President Mahama faced a little challenge as he realized that most of the pages in the script he was reading from were not in order.

“I have missed the pages of the speech”, he tells the august house and colleague Heads of State.
 
Prez John Dramani Mahama however extemporized despite the mishap at the opening of the 47th Ordinary Session of ECOWAS by reading highlights of issues to be discussed at the summit off his head.
