NPP National Youth Organizer, Sammy Awuku says the attack on the Upper East Regional Chairman of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Adam Mahama is a criminal offense and so the party will treat the case as such.

The Upper East Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mahama Adam has been confirmed dead at the Bolgatanga hospital after two people poured a corrosive substance on his face and entire body.

The incident occured in his house on Wednesday night at about 11:30pm.

Mohammed Murtala Ibrahim his vice Chairman told Nana Yaw Kesse, sit-in host of PEACE FM morning show ‘Kokrokoo’ that it is “even difficult to identify him”.

Two assailants stopped his car whilst he was about entering his house midnight on Wednesday and poured the corrosive substance on his face and entire body.

Speaking on Okay Fm’s "Ade Akye Abia" Morning Show, Sammy Awuku said “this is criminal and the offenders and anybody who is involved will be severely punished by the law”; adding “the police should investigate and bring justice to the Upper East Regional Chairman”.
