Asamoah Boateng Speaks On The Happenings In NPP In Upper East

I make this statement as a Former Minister responsible for Information under the NPP Administration and humbly plead for party members and well-wishers to hear me. It is with shock, sadness and deep sorrow that I learnt of the horrific acid attack on our Regional Chairman of Upper East and from which wounds he has reportedly passed away this morning.

Firstly, I wish to express my deepest condolences to his family, the entire NPP fraternity and well-wishers across the country who are in distress. May Allah, The Most Merciful and Most Gracious grant my brother, Adam Mahama's soul a peaceful rest.

Secondly, I wish to call on all party members to remain calm to maintain law and order, and also guard against any division that may impede our efforts towards party unity for the tasks ahead.

Thirdly, I wish to call on government and the security agencies to take the necessary steps to carry out professional investigations to apprehend those behind this criminal attack.

Fourthly, l call on all NPP members, sympathisers and all well-wishers, once again, to remain calm and to desist from any actions and/or statements that may inflame passions. We should patiently wait for our Leader, Nana Akufo Addo, whom am informed has cut short his foreign engagements and is on his way back to Ghana.

Finally, let us pray for God's Divine Grace and Guidance to work together in harmony and unity to redeem our dear nation, Ghana.

Signed

Stephen Asamoah Boateng
