NPP Will Definitely Bounce Back To Win 2016 Elections For Ghanaians - Sammy Awuku

Despite the obvious deep chasm among the executives in the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sammy Awuku, the National Youth Organizer believes the party will secure a resounding victory in the upcoming 2016 elections.

Speaking on Oman Fm’s National Agenda, Sammy Awuku urged Ghanaians and his party well-wishers to continue to trust in the opposition party's resolve to procure victory in the 2016 elections.

He averred that NPP is prepared to save Ghanaians from the hardships brought on them by the Mahama-led National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration; adding he is “convinced that what the NPP is going through is temporary and we will bounce back to go and win election 2016”.

…I assure you and that decision is irreversible; so they should exercise patience. They should continue to trust NPP and we will lead them to victory in 2016”, he assured.

He was speaking in relation to the untimely demise of the party's Upper East Regional Chairman, Adams Mahama, who was buried on Saturday after a horrific attack on him by some unknown persons.

Mr. Mahama was doused with acid by two assailants Wednesday and was confirmed dead Thursday morning at the Bolgatanga Regional Hospital.

The motive for the murder is yet to be ascertained but only last week, there was a violent confrontation in the Upper East Region which resulted in the scuttling of a planned meeting between the party chair and general secretary and other regional executives of the party.

The deceased had indicated he was not aware of the planned meeting and wondered why the two national executives will organise a party meeting in his region, with his executives and would not inform him about it.

The two later sought refuge at the regional police and subsequently lodged an assault complaint with the Upper East police.

The controversy caused a bit of a stir in the party and was being investigated by the party until Wednesday night's acid attack on late chairman.
