Prez Mahama Speaks On Alhaji Mahama's Death & Vows..."There Will Be Justice"

President John Dramani Mahama says justice will be served for the murder of the Upper East Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alhaji Adams Mahama.

In a tweet Sunday night, the President said he was horrified at the dastardly act and declared, "There'll be justice."

"Nothing can justify such barbarism," the President said, and expressed his condolence to the widow and family of the deceased. 

His twitter handle read in full: "Horrified @ murder of UE NPP Chair Adam Mahama. Nothing can justify such barbarism. Condolence to wife & family. There'll be justice.-- JM."

Background

Alhaji Adam, 49, died on Thursday, May 21, 2015, following an acid attack the previous night.

His mortal remains were buried in Bolgatanga last Saturday.

He was said to have mentioned the names of two attackers before he died.

One of the suspects, Gregory Afoko, had been arrested and sent to Accra for further investigations.

The Homicide Unit of the police Criminal Investigations Department (CID) in Accra had taken over the case.
