Ill Embarrass Rawlings If... Allotey Jacobs

Central Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is warning of dire consequences if former President Jerry Rawlings attends the 3rd anniversary of his late President of the Republic, Professor John Evans Atta Mills.

According to Bernard Allotey Jacobs, someone who always denigrates the memory of the noble former president at any given opportunity does not deserve audience at the commemoration of his [Mills’] passing.

Mr. Rawlings is quoted to have said the death of the late Mills ahead of the 2012 elections was a good omen for the NDC. This comment angered the family of the late professor and they have banned him [Rawlings] from attending the 3rd anniversary to be held at his hometown, Otuam in the Central region.

In a statement signed by his brother, Cadman Mills explained that Mr. Rawlings since the passing of their kinsman criticize and belittle his enviable legacy.

In support, Allotey Jacobs in an interview with Adom News cautioned the former president to advise himself to avoid any embarrassment.

“I will definitely speak against him [Rawlings] when he comes to Otuam because I won’t be able to control myself” he said.

The Central Regional NDC Chairman bemoaned the conduct of their party founder against the late Atta Mills even after his death.

“We Fantis don’t speak ill of the dead so we won’t allow any ‘uncultured’ human being to do that against our kinsman” he opined.

Allotey Jacobs vowed to protect the legacy of the late Atta Mills who served the nation with all his might until his sudden demise.
