More CHPS for Nandom District

Government's commitment to expand health infrastructure and improve on access and quality health delivery is on course in the Nandom District, following the inauguration of more CHPS compounds by the district Assembly, for communities.

Speaking at the inauguration of one of such facilities at Sonne, near Gengenkpe, Mr. Cuthbert Baba Kuupiel, the Nandom District Chief Executive (DCE), urged the Sonne community to see the facility and the nurse in-charge as their own and take good care of them.

He said three more CHPS compounds would be ready for use at Nandomkpee, Bikyinteng and Guri.

This year, two have already been inaugurated while three others are almost ready for opening thus bringing joy and relief to the local people.

The DCE paid tribute to the Japan International Cooperation Agency, the Ghana Health Service (GHS) and the Member of Parliament (MP) for Nandom, Dr. Benjamin Kumbuor, for the role and commitment in promoting maternal and rural public health in the district.

The District Director of Health Services, Madam Genevieve Yiripare, appealed to the assembly to provide the CHPS compound with a motor bike to aid mobility and transportation of drugs to the facility.

The chiefs and people of Sonne who witnessed the occasion expressed gratitude to the government for the facility.
