Berekum Chelsea Ready To Sell Majority Shares In The Club

The hierarchy at Former Ghana Premier League Champions, Berekum Chelsea Football Club have opened up to selling stakes in the club and have thus put measures in place to invite investors, Ghana Sports has uncovered.

Owner and Chief Executive Officer of the club Nana Kwame Nketiah, according to Ghana Sports sources, is ready to weigh up offers for the club that could see a majority stake in the 2012 CAF Champions League Campaigners.

There have been several reports that the 2011 Ghana league Champions are on the verge of liquidation with technical staff and playing body of the Golden City side no being paid for months, but there is a general feeling that the CEO may finally be open to selling a Majority share at least.

The club has been forced to sell many of their top players as they struggle to keep the side in the top-flight. Chelsea’s financial troubles has been attributed to the absence of club president Emmanuel Kyeremeh who is reported to have abandoned his football dreams, and is now based in Russia.

A close source told Ghana Sports, "As at now the leader of the club is ready to sell shares in the club and has written several proposals to private companies and corporate bodies to enter into partnership with the club",

"The club still remains attractive and we are confident of securing a partnership agreement with any company that offers itself.

"We are ready to sell shares in the club at any level or any estimation",

It is widely acknowledged that one of the requisites of success is stability, as every club that has been successful over the years has undoubtedly benefited from it. Unfortunately, Chelsea are stuck in a period in which they are severely lacking stability, but a change at the very top could be the spark that is needed for the club.
