3 Highway Robbers Arrested At Hohoe

The police at Hohoe in the Volta Region have arrested three Nigeriens for their alleged engagement in highway robbery near Akpafu Odomi, along the Hohoe –Jasikan highway.

The suspects were arrested after they had barricaded the road and robbed passengers of three vehicles of their property and cash.

Speaking to the Daily Graphic, the Hohoe Divisional Commander of the Ghana Police Service, Chief Superintendent of Police, Joseph Antwi Gyawu said his outfit had a hint of the operations of the robbers and immediately rushed to the scene   but the suspects managed to escape.

Watchdog role 

Mr. Gyawu indicated that due to the immense support of a community watchdog group at Santrokofi, the police were able to apprehend the three suspects and retrieved a laptop, bags, six mobile phones and some amount of money from them.

According to him, the suspects would soon be arrainged before court for robbery.
