Mahamas Death Has Brought Fear In Political Party Chairmanship Positions Bernard Mornah

National Chairman hopeful of the People's National Convention [PNC], Bernard Mornah says he has been advised by a political comrade to be mindful of his ambition to lead the PNC as chairman.

According to him, the position he described as lucrative earlier is now “dangerous” after the death of NPP’s Upper East Regional Chairman, Adams Mahama who was attacked with acid a week ago.

“I went to Obuasi and my regional chairman told me that, if I want to be the national chairman of the party [PNC] then I ought to be very careful because anything can happen to me.

“…This is the level of fear the chairmanship position has come to. This is not just in the NPP but cuts across. I think cool heads are needed at this time not only in the NPP but across all political parties,” he stated.

Speaking on Adom FM’s morning show, the incumbent PNC General Secretary termed Adams Mahama’s death as “a dent on Ghana’s democratic rights”.

He however called on NPP’s flagbearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and former president John Agyekum Kufour among other elders to show leadership by calming matters down.

This is the time for them to show strength. Out of this misfortune, they have to create a fortune. They have to bring themselves together and rally for each other. Media combats will not help solve the problems in the NPP,” he counseled.
