The Ministry of Health has been urged to include reflexology in the curriculum of nursing training institution in the country to enhance health delivery. Reflexology is the treatment of illness by the technique of massaging specific points of the feet and hands which are considered by reflexology practitioners as the nerve centres of the entire body, without the application of drugs. Mr. Venance Korshie Kyekye, the therapist in charge of the reflexology centre at parliament house gave the advice in an interview with Peace FM. He observed that reflexology is known to only about 5% of the populace in Ghana in spite of its effectiveness in the cure of all types of diseases. He said reflexology experts from other countries could be invited to train more reflexology therapists in Ghana. Mr. Korshie Kyekye said many diseases which attack people are stress-related or caused by negative lifestyles like sitting in air-conditioner, taking chilled drinks and exposing the body to cold.
