Practice What You Preach Asiedu Nketia Tells Nana Addo

General Secretary of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) has challenged the flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) to practice what he preaches.

Johnson Asiedu Nketia, who was reacting to a call for peace and unity by Nana Akufo Addo at the party’s headquarters on Friday, tasked him to take steps to instill the unity he is calling for.

Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo Friday called on all party members and supporters to cease fire immediately.

Addressing party supporters on current happenings within the party, Nana Akufo-Addo said the lies, finger pointing and acrimony within the party is likely to harm their chances in the upcoming 2016 elections.

He urged the regional chairmen of the party not to see the attack and subsequent death of the Upper East regional Chairman, Adams Mahama, as an attack on all of them but rather use it as a catalyst to foster greater unity of purpose.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s current affairs program Ekosi Sen on Friday, Mr. Asiedu Nketia lauded the NPP leader for taking such a step in the charged atmosphere in the party, but quickly urged him to act on the statements and pieces of advice he has given to party members.

“Nana Addo has really done well by coming out to condemn the acts of his members but he needs to put it into practice for the members to know that he is serious because too much talking would not bring the unity he is preaching”.

The NDC scribe wondered why the NPP was seeking justice six months after the killing of the Nkwanta South DCE, saying it was a failed attempt at equalization.
