Come 2016, the United Progressive Party expects to win the presidential elections by a landslide victory and shatter the dreams of the other political parties hoping to clinch unto political power. This was a bold declaration made by the Leader and Founder of the party, Mr. Akwasi Addae popularly known as Odike.

According to him, UPP is poised to take over from the National Democratic Congress after it received a certificate to operate as a political party from the Electoral Commission.

On Wednesday, 27th May 2015, the UPP was awarded with a Final Certificate at the Electoral Commission’s IPAC Conference Room.

In a press release signed by the General Secretary for the party and copied to Peacefmonline.com, the UPP was described as a Social Democratic Party with the core focus on wealth creation through industrialization, science and technology. 

The two principal founder members of the Party are Akwasi Addai Odike (Founding National Chairman & Leader) and Razak Kojo Opoku (Founding General Secretary). 

The slogan of the Party is, UFP: EYE MERE, UPP: YE MERENIE.  The Party was formed upon the vision and leadership of Akwasi Addai Odike.
