Ayittey Powers Stages Comeback On June 13

Veteran fighter, Michael Ayittey ‘Powers’ Okine, will again answer to the call of the bell when he enters the ring to face a familiar opponent, Kwesi Tutu, in the Aborigines Beach Resort at Keta in the Volta Region in a 10-round cruiserweight bout on June 13.

The bout, put together by Landmark Promotions in collaboration with the Aborigines Beach Resort and Unity Park, will be the second in six months for the 34-year-old Powers as he prepares for a return encounter with old foe, Braimah Kamoko, alias Bukom Banku.

Powers, who has penned down a GH¢50,000 worth three-fight contract with boxing promoters and managers, Unity Park and Landmark Promotions, will be staging his second bout at the fine resort at Keta against the little known Tutu.

After his three-round TKO demolishing of Beninois Annisset Ammoussou at the Unity Park in Accra six months ago, Powers believes the June 13 bout will revive his fortunes.

"I am back to roar again after months of hard work and training and I call on my fans to troop to Keta to witness wonders," he told the Daily Graphic.

Dubbed "Rumbles in Keta 3", the evening will also witness seven undercards which are expected to shake the serene ambience of  Keta.

On the bill is sleek fighter Isaacs Ekpor from Benin who faces a yet-to-be-named opponent, while Justin Savi takes on Edward Kambasi in a super featherweight contest.

Another fighter on the bill is Abdul Malik Jabir, alias Bukom Snake, who engages Ali Alabi, alias the Pride of Cape Coast, in a welterweight contest.

According to matchmaker and organiser of the bout, Peter Ako Patterson, four more bouts would be revealed soon after contracts with the boxers had been finalised.
