Baako: Dont Politicise Premix Fuel Stortage

Whiles Mr. Kwesi Pratt agrees with a section of the society to politicize the premix fuel shortage, Mr. Kwaku Baako, Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide newspaper has suggested that, we should take politics out of it and concentrate on solutions to solve the problem. According to him, looking at the economic effects of the incident, we should look for a solution rather than politicising it, else it would make our fishermens problem worse. He said, although the NDC and other opposition parties used the fuel prices situation to campaign against the then NPP administration, it does not mean they should also retaliate by spending precious time politicising it. Expressing his view, Mr Baako said, the abolition of the Ministry of Fisheries, which was set up by the former NPP government is part of the suffering of fishermen in the country. According to him, one of the best solutions to the problem is to re-establish the ministry of fisheries. Mr. Baako, was speaking on Peace FMs Morning Show, in reaction to the premix fuel shortage which has hit the country for the past four months, according to Peace FM and other media reports. This problem was confirmed on Peace FM by the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) and the fishermens council. The spokesperson for TOR, Mrs. Aba Lokko blamed the shortage partly on the fact that TOR had been engaged in refinery maintenance for 6 months, and said they take directive from the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) on the logistics or quantity to supply. But Mr Baako says there is no need for the blame game, What we need are solutions.
