Ayarigas Attack On Nana Addo An Act Of Misconduct; We Wont Tolerate It Again!!! - Sammy Awuku

National Youth Organizer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sammy Awuku has vowed to treat the 2012 presidential candidate of the People’s National Convention (PNC), Hassan Ayariga in the same negative manner the latter did against Nana Akufo-Addo, the NPP's 2016 presidential candidate.

Hassan Ayariga, is reported to have launched an unprovoked attack on the NPP's flagbearer, describing him as corrupt.

In what looks like a new wave of vitriolic onslaught, Ayariga is said to have dragged Nana Addo’s late father, onetime President of Ghana Edward Akufo-Addo, into the attack.

That was during a recent visit to the Eastern Regional capital, Koforidua, where he denigrated the NPP presidential candidate for 2016, justifying why he had not spared Akufo-Addo his constant vitriolic attacks before some PNC members.

In his attempt to catch votes from the potential delegates of the PNC, Ayariga first suggested that Akufo-Addo did not mean well with his promise to provide ‘free secondary education’ when elected president during the 2012 electioneering campaign.

I am going to tell you three reasons why I attacked Akufo-Addo …because you have sent me to the war without guns and without ammunitions and I’m going to use my weapons to fight so let me use my weapons and tell you why I fought him,” was his prelude.

Reacting to this on Oman Fm’s National Agenda, Sammy Awuku said the PNC 2012 presidential candidate, Hassan Ayariga’s misconduct can no longer be tolerated as he got away with it in the run-up to the last general elections after he deliberately heckled and attacked Nana Addo with lies and constant coughs during the 2012 IEA presidential debate.

Dismissing the allegations leveled against Nana Akufo-Addo by the PNC's 2012 Flagbearer, Sammy Awuku warned that the NPP's communication team is not prepared to countenance any form of vituperative attack on their Presidential Candidate; and will meet such people with similar strategies.

“…attack on Nana Addo is needless; what Hassan Ayariga said is a serious act of misconduct and we will not tolerate that again. We will not countenance this behavior in 2016 in similar manner; if he got away with that in 2012, he will not be tolerated in 2016 because we will deal with him in like manner,” he threatened.
