General Secretary of the People's National Convention (PNC) Bernard Mornah has lauded leaders of the Convention People's Party (CPP) for the impending merger between the two.

The CPP and the PNC have resolved to solidify their front.

To this end, the two parties are prepping up to combine their efforts and form one formidable Nkrumahist party with the aim of clinching victory in the 2016 general elections.

Confirming the news on Peace FM’s "Kokrokoo", Bernard Mornah said he strongly believes the merger will help strengthen the traditions of the two parties.

According to him, the presence of socio-political actors such as Kweku Baako, Professor Badu Akosa and Kwesi Pratt will help boost the progress of the party.

“Let’s break that silence. Let’s bring on many people who want to be part of this platform so that when the unification comes, I would want to see Uncle Kweku Baako, Uncle Kwesi Pratt, Professor Agyemang Badu Akosa, Dr. Edward Mahama…all of us rallying and going for programs and talking for one political tradition. I’m sure it will help us all," he said.

Bernard Mornah was particularly happy about the merger because to him, the amalgamation of the two parties will foster the kind of unity that must exist in both parties.

"I am excited at the possibility that we will merge. At the end of the day, we will benefit. The people of Ghana will benefit. It is not just the individuals that will benefit. It is our collective and our belief, that in this tradition, lies the salvation of our nation,” he added.
