Wear John Mahama T-Shirts On Weekends - NDC

The Eastern Regional executives of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has directed supporters, sympathizers of the party in the region and Ghanaians in general to wear President John Dramani Mahama branded T-Shirts every Friday to Sunday.

The Eastern Regional chairman of the NDC, Bismark Tawiah Boateng, announced this at a meeting attended by constituency executives of the party on Friday in Koforidua.

He said the party is putting resources together to procure over 10,000 John Mahama customized T-Shirts to be distributed to supporters of the party in the region to boost the implementation of the directive.

He, however, admonished supporters of the party to start wearing any customized T-shirt of President Mahama and the NDC party to kick-start the programme.

Explaining the motive behind the directive, Mr. Boateng stated that it is part of the new innovation by the regional executives to rekindle the party's spirit and boost morale of supporters and sympathizers ahead of the 2016 elections.

He said the party has set agenda 50/50 vote share with the opposition New Patriotic Party in the home region of their flag bearer Nana Akufo-Addo.

The regional chairman said a number of programs including symposia; constituency outreach programs and many others have been drafted to be rolled out in the region after the launching of agenda 50/50 in June.

“This move is just a tip of the iceberg, let me tell you, with my able and vibrant regional executives, we have crafted a number of programs to be rolled out to highlight achievements of the NDC government and boost the morale of supporters and sympathizers in the region-the NPP cannot intimidate any of our supporters anymore, especially, in the Akyem area as done repeatedly in previous elections. We will ensure that the law enforcers take them on.”

The Eastern Regional secretary of the NDC, Mark Oliver Kevor, told the DAILY HERITAGE during an interview that the Eastern region is still witnessing transformation in road infrastructure, education, health, water and job creation for the youth, hence, the party has a lot of successes to showcase.”

The manifestation of infrastructural projects in the region has been acknowledged by the people in the region including chiefs. The Okyenhene just recently during the Akyem Abuakwa State council meeting acknowledged the fact that President Mahama needs to be recommended for fixing the deplorable roads in the Akyem area.
