Church Leaders Urged To Develop Quality Relationship With God

Reverend Steve Mensah, the General Overseer of the Charismatic Evangelical Ministry (CEM), has tasked Church leaders to develop and maintain strong personal relationship with God, to facilitate their assignments as servants of the gospel.

“As leaders, our major preoccupation is to maintain fellowship with God” because without that we cannot function well to survive our ministry or life’s journey, he cautioned, adding that a personal or intimate relationship with God was not an option.

Rev. Mensah was speaking at a leadership seminar on Saturday to climax a three-day Prayer Conference organized by the Cape Coast branch (Family Sanctuary) of the Victory Bible Church International (VBCI) in Cape Coast.

Rev. Mensah who spoke on the theme: “Walking in Fellowship with the Father, ” indicated that for church leaders to be effective, there should be a strong bond between them and God through Bible studies, reading of Christian books, praying and spending time in the presence of God to seek His will and direction.

He expressed worry over the long hours many Christians spent on twitter, whatsupp, facebook and other social media, at the expense of reading the Bible, and reminded them that Satan’s greatest interest was to prevent Christians from having strong fellowship with God their Father.

Leaders who fellowship with God walk with confidence, and also exude power and authority in relation to their God-given assignment.

Speaking at the prayer conference on Thursday and Friday, Rev. Mensah urged Christians to pray for open heavens and also desire the anointing of the Holy Ghost, the most important ingredient for success.

The host Pastor, Rev. Richard Ampadu-Duku, earlier explained that the annual programme was instituted to further enrich the word base and prayer life of members of the Church.
