NDC Will Win Greater Accra �Afotey Agbo

Joseph Nii Laryea Afotey Agbo, Greater Accra Regional Minister, has stated that the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) will win the Greater Accra Region massively, which will eventually translate into total victory for the party in the 2016 general elections.

According to him, the way the party is reorganising itself in the region, coupled with the determination and dedication of its activists, is a clear indication that come rain or shine, the NDC shall win overwhelmingly in the region.

The Minister, who is also the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Kpone-Katamanso Constituency, made the statement at the inauguration of 30 newly-elected officers of the Tema Regional District Coordinating Council of the NDC at the Afariwaa Junction in Tema last Wednesday.

He noted that as the Regional Minister, he is harnessing all the resources necessary for action, including human resource, time, finance and logistics with a good strategy to ensure that the party retains all the seats it occupies in the region currently, and if possible, win more.

He admonished supporters of the party, especially, those at the grassroots, to work hand in hand with the executives to make certain that the party enjoys a sweet victory, come 2016.

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the Council, in line with the constitution of the party, as a coordinating structure in the region aimed at organising all the five constituencies within the Tema Region, namely, Tema East, Central and West, and Ashaiman, as well as Kpone-Katamanso, he said the party is well prepared for the task ahead.

The programme was supervised by the Greater Accra Regional executives of the party, led by Adonu Victor Quarshie and Anthony Nukpenu, Regional Secretary and Organiser respectively.  The Regional Secretary swore the 30 newly-elected officers of the Council into office. Ben Djakuma is the Coordinator and Chairman, with Nayham Charweh as Secretary.

Among other things, the Council is expected to coordinate the activities of the five constituencies within the Tema Region to enable the party realise its dream of winning massively in the Greater Accra Region. Mr. Ben Djakuma assured them that the party leadership in the region will do everything possible to ensure that the party triumphs again in the upcoming general elections.

He hinted that even though they are very much aware that it is not going to be easy, they are determined to weather the storm and come out victorious, to guarantee the party’s ultimate conquest in the general elections.

Present at the programme were some of the top party people, including, Kofi Adams, General Secretary, Isaac Ashai Odamtten, Tema Metropolitan Chief Executive, Ibrahim Baidoo, Ashaiman Municipal Chief Executive, and Alhaji Antie Tetteh, Kpone-Katamanso District Chief Executive.

The rest are all the chairmen of the five constituencies within the Tema Region – Alhaji Mahama Bulsa, Tema East, Ben Doe, Tema West, Ben Djakuma, Tema Central, Sadat Jallo, Ashaiman and Alhaji Abdulai Adams, Kpone-Ktamanso and their respective secretaries, as well as a host of party activists and sympathisers.
