Agya Koo Fights FIPAG Over 'Dumsor' Demo

Kumawood actor, Agya Koo has lamented over accusations by FIPAG that Kumawood actors received gifts from certain quarters which prevented them from appearing at the just ended dumsor demonstration which happened in Kumasi.

The award-winning actor questioned FIPAG if they think he is a fool to join a protest he is going to benefit nothing from.

In an interview with Flew Newspaper, Agya Koo said:

“For the past four years I’ve been jobless, producers do not see my importance as an actor who strived with my colleagues, Mercy Asiedu, Katawere and some of the old actors to make sure we restored the business. Now producers who think they are enriched with book knowledge and don’t regard us as actors, want me to go on the street to demonstrate, for what? Do they know what I do to feed my family and pay fees? I am not a fool.

When Otumfuo Osei Tutu came out to advise that we should limit nudity in films, I called on people in the industry to stop the act, no producer or actor supported me. It was tailors and engineers who came out to help. Today they are doing a similar thing and they want me to join; I don’t want to talk much because yearly, they plan things to destroy me. When I say it, everyone will say Kofi is not good but I will always speak the truth".
