NDC Communication Team Inspects Projects

In line with the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) activities to challenge critics and point out to them what the government is doing, the Central Regional Communications Team and some executives of the party have hit the grounds to inspect on-going and completed projects in all the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) within the region.

The inspection which was led by the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives in various districts was to educate the populace on what government has been able to do for the people in the region.

The team expressed satisfaction at the progress of work at the various district assemblies including the construction of ultra-modern education office at Assin North Municipality, 280 market sheds, eight water projects with offices and three bedroom ultra-modern  teachers quarters.

The rest are construction of Assin Municipal works department, ultra-modern three nurses’ bungalow and construction and rehabilitation of roads to boost economic activities in the area.

The communicators also inspected the construction of on-going Cape Coast Sports Stadium, an ultra-modern Kotokruaba market, Komenda Sugar factory, construction of fish processing plant, Benya Lagoon Bridge, midwifery training School with lectures bungalow, 20 lockable stores and ultra-modern Community centre where works are progressing steadily.

They also inspected the 24 classroom block community Senior High School comprising six science laboratories, six offices, library, Information Communication and Technology center, toilet facilities and conference hall, 500-meter drainage project which will serve as a permanent solution to the flood problem at Agona Swedru, Essarkyir water project, magistrate bungalow and borehole drilling for the Ekumfi T.I Ahmadiyya School among others.

Briefing the media after the inspection, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Assin North, Dr. Kofi Blankson commended the government for the numerous projects he has initiated in the area and called for release of funds for the construction of Assin Fosu bypass to ease heavy road traffic linking Kumasi.

According to the Chief Executive, during President John Dramani Mahama's recent visit to the Assin North municipality he (President Mahama) promised to construct the bridge and road that links Assin Nyankumasi to Senchem and that work is steadily progressing and hoped after the construction, farmers will be able to transport their produce to the market centers easily.

Interacting with the media shortly after the exercise, the Regional Communications Officer to the team, Emmanuel Kwasi Dawood said the regional executives of NDC instituted the Communication team with an aim to educate the people in the region about the marvelous work President Mahama is doing in order to shame critics.

He said there is the need for the communications team to visit where the government is executing various projects in line with President Mahama's Better Ghana Agenda and called on the media to disseminate the information appropriately to the public to know the numerous projects the government is embarking on.

Mr. Dawood encouraged all the party executives in NDC across the country to do well to follow central regional communications team’s footstep in order to sell the good achievements of President Mahama to the public since opponents are throwing dust into the electorates’ eyes.
