Black Stars Visit Accra�s Twin Disaster Scene

Ghana’s senior national team, the Black Stars have visited the Kwame Nkrumah Circle GOIL Filling Station scene where over 150 people were killed in a twin disaster last week Wednesday.

The team including the president of the Ghana Football Association [GFA], Mr. Kwesi Nyantakyi and contingent from the sports ministry took time off their busy schedule to tour the totally burnt to aches filling station.

Black Stars captain, Asamoah Gyan, Coach Avram Grant and Kwesi Nyantakyi laid wreaths for the dead souls.

Asamoah Gyan also known as ‘Baby Jet’ noted that the souls lost are obviously chief supporters of the Black Stars - “The national team is for the whole country, and this is a national disaster…we have lost great fanatics”.

Dubbed “Black Wednesday” June 3, 2015 flood and fire disaster has been described as the worst ever in the history of the country.
