XCLUSIV FOTOS: Jackie Appiah Puts Smiles On Faces of Flood and Fire Victims

Beautiful award winning actress Jackie Appiah said she couldn’t just sit unconcerned after watching victims of the Wednesday June 3, 2015 floods and fire disaster on TV.

Jackie said she couldn’t believe her eyes when she saw devastating pictures of surviving victims on TV on Thursday morning so she decided to support in her own little way to put smiles on the faces of some affected people especially children and the youth.

Ms. Appiah donated several items and an undisclosed amount of money to victims. The beautiful actress first visited the 37 Military Hospital and later Nima, a suburb of Accra on Wednesday June 3, 2015 exactly a week after the disaster.

After officially presenting the items to the authorities of the 37 Military Hospital, she interacted with several flood victims particularly children on admission at the children’s ward of the hospital who were burnt in the Kwame Nkrumah Circle fire explosion and donated several items including bags of rice, cartons of water, drinks, toiletries, other food items and an undisclosed amount of money to support the victims as they go through this hard time.

According to Jackie she was at the hospital to commiserate with those who had lost loved ones and properties and to wish those on admission a speedy recovery.

”I am still shocked by events of last Wednesday. Seeing the destruction, loss of life and property saddens my heart,” the actress said.

The “Perfect Picture” actress then continued to a community in Nima called Uganda which one of the most affected places in the area where she met with the youth, interacted with them and donated several items including mattresses, cloth, slippers, water, bread among other item with an undisclosed amount of money.

Youth of the area received the donation and thanked the actress for her kind gesture adding the item and especially the money will go a long way to help to rebuild the destroyed community.   

Jackie made a passionate appeal to her fellow celebrities and well-meaning institutions and individuals both in Ghana and across the world to offer any kind of assistance, both in cash and kind to the affected people to enable them rebuild their lives.
