According to her, government has put in place adequate measures to stop if from spreading.

Ghana’s veterinary officers have culled over 1000 birds at Kpone in the Greater Accra region following the confirmation of Bird Flu in the country by an Italian laboratory.

Farmers and veterinary officers are on high alert to contain the outbreak. Over 50 crates of eggs and bags of feed have been destroyed as a result.

But Hannah Bissiw on Asempa FM’s Ekosi Sen Thursday stressed that inasmuch as the public should be on high alert in the wake of the Avian flu outbreak, they should however “feel free and consume chicken and eggs.

“I’m assuring the public to feel free and consume chicken and eggs because we have put measures in place to prevent further escalation.

“Myself I have taken chicken and eggs today and so each and every one should feel free and consume them since it will not harm them,” she assured.
