Gov't Advises FA Not To Invite KP Boateng And Sulley Muntari Into Black Stars Team

The Government of Ghana has advised the Ghana Football Association not to hand call-ups to duo Kevin-Prince Boateng and Sulley Muntari into the Black Stars team. A statement in the white paper on the report of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry into Brazil 2014 suggests that the pair should not be invited to the Black Stars following their ill-mannered behavior during the teams campaign in Brazil. The two were suspended for insubordination at the teams camp in Maceio (Brazil). Muntari was said to have engaged in a burst up with a management committee member during a meeting between the playing body and management team. Boateng on the other hand was alleged to have verbally assaulted former Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah during a training session prior to the teams final Group match against Portugal. The Commission in its recommendations thus advised the FA not to invite the firebrand players to the National team. Government further advises that the two players should not be recalled into the Black Stars camp in order to maintain the discipline that appears to have been restored since Brazil 2014,statement by the Attorney General read. The Ghana Football Association had earlier indicated that both players will only be invited into the team should they show remorse and apologize.
