Kofi Jumah Granted Bail

Former Asokwa NPP MP, Maxwell Kofi Jumah has been freed from police custody after he was arrestted earlier in the day during the party’s primaries.

The former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) was charged with destroying electoral materials and disturbing public peace.

He resorted to such an action after suspecting the register was doctored to suit his opponent, the incumbent Member of Parliament for the constituency, Patricia Agyei.

The two have been bickering with the incumbent MP having earlier accused Jumah of scheming against her.

However, Jumah, who is also a parliamentary aspirant in the Asokwa constituency in the Ashanti Region was bailed by Chairman Wontumi and some party leaders in the region.
