Lawyer Philip Addison Does Shallow Desktop Analysis

Two contestants from the Klottey Korle Constituency namely lawyer Philip Addison and Nii Noi Nortey, have been involved in a verbal war and this has forced a member of the National Democratic Congress to poke his nose into the affairs of his main political rivals.

Lawyer Philip Addison became popular during the 2012 Election Petition suit filed at the Supreme Court by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey; but Alhaji Dori believes the time is right to remind the renowned lawyer that elections are won and lost at the polling stations and not at the law court.

In an interview with Peacefmonline.com, the NDC scribe eulogized Philip Addison for being a distinguished legal luminary but was quick to add that he doubts his ability to understand the ins and outs of practical electoral processes.

In his eyes, Philip Addison does “shallow desktop analysis” and this he says, manifested in the way he presented cases of irregularities on pink sheets which he sought to use as a basis to overturn electoral results in favour of the NPP at the Supreme Court.

“I am therefore challenging the lead counsel for the NPP to solely rely on those same technicalities without working hard on the grounds to see if he can win his constituency primaries”, he challenged.

Twelve constituencies were not allowed to take part in the just ended New Patriotic Party parliamentary primaries. Elections in the Klottey Korle Constituency was put on hold after a decision which was taken by executives of the party.
