Adu Asare Hot

Barring any last minute intervention by friends and relatives of Kwadwo Adu Asare, a Presidential Staffer, he would be hauled before an Accra High to justify why he should not be incarcerated for allegedly defrauding a Real Estate developer to the tune of $50,000.

Information available to The New Crusading GUIDE indicates that somewhere last year, after the former Member of Parliament had been dragged to Court by CODCO on allegations of fraud, he pleaded for out of court settlement. However, a year down the line, he has not made good his promise to redeem himself.

The estate developers, according to the information “are finding it difficult to locate Adu Asare since he is always said to be at the Flagstaff House. If the situation remains the same this week, then they would have no option than to revert to the Courts for the law to take its course”.

This is not the first time the Presidential Staffer has been unavailable for amicable settlement. It would be recalled there were reports last year, that the Court Bailiff was finding it difficult to serve the summons on the former MP since he was always holed up at the Flagstaff House.

According to the information, about three years ago, the former MP popularly known as ‘Swagger’, who was seeking a re-election contacted the estate developer that he was selling a land at Ogbojo, near Madina in Accra, which he claimed was a family land

He therefore demanded the $50,000, to facilitate the documentation on the supposed 25 acre land.
The former law maker, after taking the money refused to provide documentation on the said land which investigations have shown does not even belong to him.

After numerous efforts to get him refund the money proved futile, the company was compelled to make a formal complaint at the East Legon Police Station.

It would be recalled that Mr. Adu Asare, in the run up to the NDC election primaries in 2012, declared publicly that he was not going to seek re-election, however, in a sharp u-turn barely two months after his earlier declaration, the MP announced that he had rescinded his decision and went ahead to contest which he eventually lost to Nii Ashie Moore.

Coincidentally, it was during the run up the NDC Parliamentary primaries that the transaction took place making him $50,000 richer.

Meanwhile, efforts made to reach Adu Asare on why he has no made do with his promise proved futile.

Please stay tuned.
