I Disclosed My Co-efficient Amount To The Commission - George Afriyie

Black Stars Management Committee Chairman George Afriyie has denied allegations that he lied during his appearance before the Brazil 2014 Presidential Commission Inquiry of as suggested in the government white paper.

The Ghana FA Executive Committee member has indicated that he gave all the account and evidence expected of him during his appearance before the Dzamefe commission and is surprised at comments in the media suggesting that he had failed to disclose how much he was paid from state funds.

The Government White Paper says it is accepting the recommendation of the report of the 2014 World Cup Commission to prevent George Afriyie and three other GFA members from working with any of the national teams in future.

This recommendation per the White Paper was based on evidence given by the Black Stars management committee chairman to the Commission of Inquiry considered not to be truthful.

Afriyie is also alleged to have refused to disclose the exact amount of the ‘co-efficient’ money received for working as a member of the Emergency Committee of the GFA at the World Cup in Brazil.

But in an exclusive interview with Accra-based Atinka FM, George Afriyie insisted that he provided all documents and statements requested from him by the commission, and even disclosed the amount he received, contrary to the White Paper reports.

"I did not go to the commission to lie...I have decided not to respond to all these allegations but I will entreat everybody to get a copy of the commission's report and not the summary in that white paper",

"I told the commission what I believed was the true and even what I received was all captured and at the right time people will see"

“I hope that everyone will get a copy of the actual report, there they will realize that I never lied to the commission,”

“I will say no more about this issue for now as the GFA is still studying the White Paper and will issue an appropriate response soon.” Afriyie added.
