Government Donates To Muslims Towards Ramadan

President John Mahama has donated 50 bags of rice each and sugar to the three Muslim sects in Cape Coast towards the Ramadan period.

Presenting the items to the leaders of the sects at the Central Regional Coordinating Council, Mr Aquinas Tawiah Quansah, Regional Minister, said the donation was the government’s gesture to the Regional Muslim Council to help the less-privileged during the Ramadan.

He asked Muslims to use the period to pray for the nation and the Government.
Receiving the items, Imam Abubakar Ibrahim, Leader of the Tijania Muslim sect, thanked the President for the gesture and promised to urge his followers to continue to pray for national peace.

Alhaji Mohammed Ben Abu, Wallah Chief of the Al-Sunna sect commended the Presidency for its support every year during Ranadan, and assured the Minister that they would continue to play their roles as useful citizens for the country’s developmental drive.

Alhaji Osman Abdulai, Head of the Ahmadiyya sect, thanked Allah for protecting the Government and Ghanaians through the trying times.
