Ex-Black Stars midfielder, Anthony Annan has revealed in an interview with Ghana sports that he does not regret ever playing in the German’s Bundesliga where he played for Schalke 04. Claiming, he took the opportunity to embrace the new challenges in Germany.
“I took the opportunity around at that time and things didn’t work out but I think I tried and did my best.
” I was not successful in Germany but now am back to my best,” he said.
Despite worries over his club future, the midfielder insists his main aim at the moment is to get a place in Avram Grant’s team.
“Now I play day in day out and focused, working harder to earn a return back to the national team,” he added.
The former Hearts of Oak player was plagued by an ankle injury that ruled him out for nearly one year before he returned to play matches for his then club Schalke but failed to secure a permanent deal.
The former Hearts of Oak midfielder who also played Stabaek and Rosenborg was an integral member of the Black Stars team at the 2010 World Cup where Ghana almost reached the semi finals in South Africa.
He missed out on Kwesi Appiah’s team for 2014 world Cup in Brazil.
