Accra Hearts of Oak could face heavy sanctioning from the Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association after fans of the Club were reported to have thrown an object at assistant referee Badiun Alhassan during their First Capital plus Premier League game against Sekondi Hasaacas.
 
Badiun Alhassan was struck with an unknown object from the stands in a game the Phobians lost 1-2 at home.

Fans of the home side had expressed anger at the assistant referee after Hasaacas had scored their second goal.

The irate fans had questioned the referee’s decision not to have flagged Emmanuel Ankobeah who appeared to be in an offside position leading to the second goal for the visitors.

The decision however led to the supporters throwing objects onto the field which eventually struck Badiun Alhassan from behind.

The game had to be halted for more than 20 minutes as the assistant referee received treatment from the Red Cross team.

Fourth official Yaw Ametepe eventually had to replace injured Badiun Alhassan.

Hearts could however be facing a ban from the Accra Sports Stadium should their supporters be found guilty for hooliganism.
