Presby University College Donates To Despite Group June 3 Disaster Relief Fund

The Presbyterian University College (PUC), Abetifi has donated an amount of 5,000 Ghana cedis to the Despite Disaster Relief Fund set up after the June 3, fire and flood disaster at Circle in Accra.

The CEO of Despite Group of Companies, Dr. Osei Kwame and his business partner, Dr. Ernest Ofori Sarpong of Special Investments set up the fund with a seed money of 100,000.00 Ghana Cedis to be given to victims of the twin flood and fire June 3rd disaster.

Presenting the cash cheque to the Fund, the Public Relations Officer for the university, Rev. Kofi Asante Antwi stated that, as a christian institution it will not augur well if they apathetically look on in the wake of some hundreds of people losing their lives and properties in the disaster.

According to him, the University chose to donate to the Despite fund because of the many good works and kind heartedness the company has done and shown to Ghanaians over the years when it comes to their corporate social responsibilty.

He hoped the support will go a long way to help children whose parents are victims of the disaster who want to further their education.

Michael Annan, Head of Information Technolgy (IT) who received the cheque on behalf of Despite Group, gave the assurance that, their contributions will be taken to the appropriate quarters so victims of the June 3rd disaster fully benefit from the donations.
