Former Hearts of Oak coach has urged current manager to resign from his post. Hearts of Oak former coach Mohammed Polo wants Herbert Addo to step down as head coach of the Accea-based club. Already booted out of the 2015 CAF Confederation Cup, the Phobians are 12th on the 16-team league table and are flirting with relegation. Medeama SC further deepened the woes of Hearts last weekend, kicking them out of this year�s MTN FA Cup. Coach Addo replaced Polo at the end of last season but has so far failed to propel the Phobians to greater heights in his second stint with the Continental Club Masters. After leading Tema-based side Inter Allies FC to a respectable sixth finish last season, expectations were high in the Phobians camp that his return to the team would bring positive changes. �Herbert Addo needs to resign honourably because he has failed the team. With his pedigree, I�m surprised he�s not doing well. There are quality players in the team, the same players I had when I was there and he added more players,� Polo told Ultimate FM. In recent weeks, Addo has come under intense pressure, especially from the fans, to step down due to the poor run of results the team have been churning out. The 64-year-old coach has a two-year running contract with Hearts, with reports emerging that the top hierarchy has opened talks with former Berekum Chelsea and Amidaus Professionals coach, Tony Lokko, as a possible replacement. �Addo had more time with the players because of the delay in the start of the league and yet they play as if he has just taken charge of the club. It�s up to the board to sack but for me, I think he should resign honorably before he is kicked out of the club,� Polo said. Polo had an unsuccessful six-month stint with Hearts of Oak last season.
