Gov�t To Present Mid-Year Budget

Government will, next week, submit the Mid-Year Review of the 2015 Budget and Supplementary Estimates to parliament for approval.

The review will focus on fixing the challenges in the power sector, while discussing the performance of the cedi since January and its recent appreciation against the major trading currencies.

The Minister of Communications, Dr. Edward Omane Baomah, in an interview with The Ghanaian Times yesterday, said it is also focused on employment generation through the Youth Employment Agency.

He said Cabinet held a meeting yesterday on the budget review to discuss issues relating to the price of crude oil on the world market and the effect on the economy.

Dr. Boamah further stressed that the mid-year review would be presented to parliament by the Finance Minister, Mr. Seth Terkper barring any changes.

According to him, the budget would also focus on funding the Digital Terrestrial Migration project from proceeds from the auction of redundant spectrum among others.
