Deputy Minister Takes Roll Call At Public Function

Mr Daniel Syme, Upper East Deputy Regional Minister on Thursday took roll call of municipal and district chief executives (MDCEs) as well as coordinating directors, at a public programme.

His action was a follow-up to an appraisal and performance review meetings to measure the output of MDCEs and their coordinating directors to ensure that they attach seriousness to government business and deliver on promise as they indicated in their appraisal form.

Mr Syme said attendance of public forums in the region by public officials constitute a parameter for which their performance would be measured.

The Deputy Minister took the action at a forum to launch a new agricultural project on improved cowpea and groundnuts cultivation in the country targeted at the Upper East, Upper West and the Northern Regions.

Mr Syme said government would not sit aloof and allow people’s lukewarm attitude towards government and public business to derail its development agenda.

He said such attitudes affected the activities of Farmer Services Company and the Upper Region Development Programme and many other activities initiated by government and other non-governmental organisations aimed at reducing poverty.
