Mills Boys Threaten NDC

Friends of the Late Professor John Evans Atta Mills (FOAM), a political group associated with the National Democratic Congress has threatened to go public with some of the party’s top secrets should government continue to turn a blind eye on their welfare issues

According to the group, all efforts to get the attention of the President or the Chief of staff to assist them financially, has fallen on deaf ears yet they were the group that mobilized funds to see the late president through the 2008 elections.

The group is accusing some gurus surrounding the President of halting their attempts to meet him, describing them as enemies.

Alhaji Adamu Alhassan Pierre, Secretary of FOAM recalled penning down their grievances to President John Dramani Mahama and copying the chief of staff on two occasions, only to be invited on 19th April 2015 by the deputy chief of staff, Jonny Osei-Kofi and had them treated with contempt.

Though he indicated that the actions of the deputy chief of staff was not pleasant, a blueprint he requested of the group towards retaining NDC in power in 2016, was done and sent him “but nothing has been heard from him up to date”.

Chronicling all the help they gave the NDC party and the late Prof Evans Atta Mills towards the campaign in 2008, he said several meetings were held to generate funds to buy a photocopier machine and a paper shredder which was received by Antwi Bosiako Sekyere, Eastern Regional Minister who was then an aid to the then flagbearer.

Alhaji Adams hinted of how members paid the outstanding electricity, water and telephone bills, paid for renovation works at the party’s headquarters as well as raising an amount of $6000 dollars as rent to save the party from being ejected from the building they occupied as headquarters.

“The late Professor informed the group about the election result from the Volta region which he was not impressed and asked Elvis Afriyie Ankrah to inform the group to proceed to the region on a vigorous campaign to yield a massive result for the NDC while he proceeded to the Northern region”, he recalled.

He recounted an event where one ardent supporter through the group provided an amount of $300, 000 to the late Professor the same day Tain Constituency was declared as the game changer in the 2008 elections to go campaign in the constituency.

“That supporter even till date have not received even a presidential hand shake or from any of the party National executives”, Alhaji revealed.

The group according the secretary is very angry with Koku Anyidoho, the deputy general secretary of the party, given that he was in the know of all their benevolent activities and was supposed to fight for their rightful portions in government but has been silent.
