Police Grabs Notorious Armed Robbers

The Accra Region Police Command has made progress with the arrest of two armed robbers involved in two high profile cases by apprehending one more suspect in each case.

The first is the arrest of Enoch OsafoAmankwah aka schoolboy a resident of Adenta. Schoolboy is believed to have been among a gang of armed robbers who attacked a banker in 2012 and made away with his car.

According to the Accra Region Police Commander, they had a tip off that the car was being sold at Ashiman by Enoch during the period mentioned above.

Quickly, a plain cloth officer, IddiBriamah was detailed to investigate the sale which he did, however in the process of price negotiations someone alerted Enoch that the person he was negotiating with is a police officer.

Infuriated, schoolboy pulled a gun out and shot the officer in the chest. Though he was rushed to the hospital, Briamah passed away.
Through intelligence, the police later had a tip off that schoolboy and his accomplices were hiding in Ashiaman and in the course of arrest they opened fire on the police leading to the demise of one of the robbers, Kataku.

However, police manged to arrest one of them Godson Mante, 26 who is currently standing trail but Schoolboy managed to escape.
On July 19, luck eluded Enoch and he was arrested at his hideout at Adenta.

The second development is the arrest of Abdullai Ibrahim, 26 who is understood to have been among the gang of armed robbers who raided Amanfrom on June 29.

Abdullai’s arrest brings the total number of arrests made in that case to three out of the six-member gang who were terrorizing residents in Amanfrom.

The first two arrested in connection with the robberies in Amanfrom have been trailed and jailed for 35 years with hard labour.
