What Is This Akua Donkor Business? Okyeame Asks

Who is Akua DOnkor? What is Akua Donkor’s actual value and relevance in our political equation? Is her existence on the political landscape not for comic relief? So, why is Government placing such needless value on Akua Donkor? Is it not very said that after the president’s recent trip to Italy, it is Akua Donkor, who has rather become the news as opposed to the president making the news?

Akua Donkor has drowned whatever job the president went to do in Italy; and Okyeame deems this highly unacceptable. Governance is not a tea party, and we must get serious! If the Government wants to make Akua Donkor happy, it must be done on the quiet. There is no fathomable reason why Government must be giving Akua Donkor the kind of attention she is getting.

Can Government put its hand on its chest and tell us the value Akua Donkor added to the Italy trip? Has she not rather muted the message of the president and the real purpose of the trip?

For goodness sake, 2016 is just around the corner, and Government must expend all energies on cutting a serious image for itself, rather than cutting a comical image.

In fact, Okyeame does not envy Akua Donkor at all but as a serious politician and with the vital information I receive on daily basis, it is important that Government, becomes more serious-minded, fixed the available of problems confronting this country and, stop the attention being given this woman.

Very said about this Akua Donkor business is that, instead of senior Government appointees highlighting the benefits of the President’s Italy trip, they are quoted in newspapers as praising Akua Donkor for explaining the relevance of the said trip better; and I grieve for Government and the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

As for the Government’s communication machinery, I have forgotten it exists. The reason is that, nothing they say is of relevance to the political equations, as far as, election 2016 is concerned.

To be honest; they can only be credited with their usual praise-singing; but explaining to the satisfaction of the Ghanaian public policies, programmes and success chalked by government, the least talk about them, the better.

Of course, why blame those recruited to be talking on behalf of government, when their boss is busy with this 2020 presidential ambition and, has ceded his job to Akua Donkor to do?

I don’t care who is behind this Akua Donkor business, but my position is that this must stop now. Enough of Akua Donkor business: enough is enough!!!
