Supporters of the National Democratic Congress in the Ayawaso Central Constituency have mounted pressure on Robert Coleman, Communications Director of Zoomlion, to contest the upcoming parliamentary primaries of the party.
Currently Robert Coleman is enjoying massive support from the constituents as he was mobbed by party loyalists at an event to mark the third anniversary celebration of the late Professor John Evans Atta Mills.
The supporters expressed their desire to see Coleman as their MP in 2016.
According to them, he is a sure bet for the Parliamentary seat, since he understands the needs of the constituency and will be able to move along with the people.
They noted that Robert Coleman is the only person who can wrestle power from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate, Mr. Henry Quartey.
Opinion leaders, chiefs and other notable personalities in the area have added their voices to the call on Coleman to contest since according to them, he (Coleman) believes in changing the fortunes of the constituency for the better and that he is the only candidate who can push the NDC agenda forward come 2016 general elections.
According to the people, his good works are manifest in all that he does in the constituency for which he must be supported in his political endeavors.
They averred that the youth of the constituency are taking full advantage of the constructed Kotobabi Wembley Sports complex Astro turf, a splendid facility which is helping the community a lot since it prevents the youth from engaging in social vices but use their time at the facility to learn and recreate.
The construction of the 700-seater capacity Wembley sports complex which was spearheaded by Coleman is situated inside the Kotobabi Community, having basket, volleyball and tennis courts.
He has also instituted a scholarship scheme for needy students of the community and as well, continues to assist in diverse ways towards the development of the constituency.
From the residents, there is no doubt that Robert Coleman will always be available to consider the demands of his people.
They revealed that, the comprehensive and holistic plan of action that Robert Coleman has for the area are surest ways of making Ayawaso Central a model constituency in the Region.”
However, indications are that Mr. Robert Coleman is also lacing his boots to accept the calls from his constituency to contest the Ayawaso Central Constituency seat in the Greater Accra region on the ticket of the NDC.
The Ayawaso Central Constituency seat is one of the safe seats that have been held by the opposition NPP since 1996.
