Ghana Excels At Warri Relays

The 2015 Warri Relays/CAA Grand Prix saw Ghana’s representatives put up spectacular performance at the Warri Township Stadium in Delta State, Nigeria.

The track and field event, which took place last Friday, saw Ghana’s Sprinter Emmanuel Dasor put up a sensational finish to win the men’s 400m race by 46.14 seconds while his compatriot Daniel Gyasi followed closely in second place in 46.45 with Nigeria’s Erayokan settling for the third position in 46.52.

Dasor continued his winning ways as he led Ghana to another victory in the 4x400m race together with George Effah, Daniel Gyasi and Kwadwo Acheampong. Nigeria finished in second place while Botswana managed the third position.

Sensational John Amponsah triumphed in the men’s Javelin by throwing a best distance of 73.73m ahead of his counterparts from Nigeria, Kenechukwu Ezeofor and Friday Osayande who both threw 67.32m and 64.74m respectively.

Ghana’s Daisy Akpofa settled for second place in the women’s 400m hurdles in 58.51 seconds behind Nigeria’s Amaka Ogoegnunmam who won by clocking 56.26 seconds.

In the women’s 100m race, Ghana’s Fling Owusu-Agyapong place second by clocking 11.61 seconds while Nigeria’s Gloria Asumnu placed first in 11.60 seconds and Nkem Ezealah came third in 11.71 seconds.
