Prez Mahama's "Gunman" Must Go For Psychiatric Evaluation - Opanyin Agyekum

Professor Kofi Agyekum, Head of the Department Linguistics at the University of Ghana, says President John Mahama's assassin should undergo a psychiatric evaluation.

Speaking on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo", Prof. Agyekum told host Kwami Sefa Kayi that the 36-year-old man who went to the President's church wielding a pistol may have psychological challenges.

According to him, his action and his rationale for sending the gun to the church raise suspicions about his level-headedness.

Prof. Agyekum also feared for the security of the President because in his view, the man's act is a serious breach of national security.

He therefore called on the security forces in the country to be on red alert and guard the president and citizenry from unforeseen attacks.

“We should sit up well. We plead with the Interior Minister and security forces to guard us well."
