Paul Afoko Is Fully Aware Agenda 2020 Is Not A Done Deal For NPP

Lawyer Nana Yaw Osei, Aide and Spokesperson to the National Chairman of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Paul Afoko, says party faithfuls should discard the notion that there is a hidden agenda by the latter and the General Secretary to see the NPP lose 2016 elections.

According to him, Mr. Afoko is aware Election 2020 is not a definite win for the NPP should the party lose the upcoming 2016 elections next year.

What is agenda 2020? Afoko has the mindset that if we don’t win 2016 elections, the 2020 election is not automatic for NPP; it is not clear that NPP will win 2020 election if we lose the 2016,” he posited.

Speaking on Okay Fm’s "Ade Akye Abia" Morning Show, Lawyer Yaw Osei said Philip Addison has joined the choristers to sing the chorus they know best that Kwabena Agyepong and Paul Afoko should be blamed if Nana Akufo-Addo does not win the 2016 elections.

He added though Paul Afoko has no such intention as a National Chairman to make Nana Addo lose the 2016 elections, pointing out that he [Afoko] was not the chairman of the NPP in 2008 when Nana Addo lost the elections.

He however begged those against Paul Afoko and Kwabena Agyepong to allow them have their peace of mind to carry out their duties to help the party win power for Ghanaians in the 2016 elections.

There are some people in NPP who decided to trouble Afoko the moment he decided to contest for the chairmanship position of the party; those who wished for Afoko to lose the chairmanship during the Tamale congress have not come to terms with his victory. They have made their minds not to help him succeed,” he said.
