Stolen Wele Lands Campaign Manager In Trouble

A campaign manager in Awukugua-Akuapim, in the Eastern Region has been caught on the wrong side of the law after savouring his soup with stolen ‘wele’ (cow hide).

Isaac Addo, popularly known as ‘I Don’t Care’, together with his friends had prearranged to prepare ‘fufu’ and light soup but unfortunately for him, he had nothing than his stolen ‘wele’ to contribute.

The owner of the ‘wele’ Kofi Dagbani in an interview with Peacefm’s correspondent in the Eastern Region revealed that upon returning from market, he noticed that the meat he had purchased had been stolen.

Little did he know that his lost item was relishing in the soup Isaac Addo. The thief is said to be the campaign manager for Richard Asante, an aspiring assembly member at Awukugua.

Kofi Dagbani explains that he managed to confront Isaac Addo and ask him if he and his friends had any knowledge of the whereabouts of his ‘wele’.  But he claims the response he had from them left him disappointed. “They all told me they have not seen my cow hide”, he said.

“Later within the day, I had a call from one of the guys and he told me that he had spotted my ‘wele’ in his soup. I was shocked and I had to call a friend of mine to assist me retrieve it,” he said.

Determined to find the thief, Kofi Dagbani stated that he went in for his ladle and visited the premises where the group had assembled to prepare the fufu. “When I got there, I dipped my ladle into the soup and scooped my ‘wele’ out. Isaac tried to stop but I told him the cow hide belonged to me”, he said.

In an attempt to seek justice Kofi Dagbani reported the case to Nana Yaw Lebi, who is the Asokwa Chief.

After a carefully deliberation on the matter, the ‘wele’ was returned to the rightful owner and Isaac Addo popularly known as ‘I Don’t Care’ was made to apologize to Kofi Dagbani .
