Prez Mahama's Gunman Is Not Mad...Stop Making Him A Victim - Ade Coker Cautions Ghanaians

Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Ade Coker has debunked claims that President John Mahama's gunman may be suffering from any form of mental illness.

According to him, Charles Antwi, the "gunman" does not have any record of mental illness and so, should not be treated as a mad person.

He told host Kwami Sefa Kayi on "Kokrokoo" in a categorical statement that the potential assassin’s act was well planned awaiting execution by the culprit.

He explained that for the culprit to have professed that he wanted to kill the President proves that he can never be mad.

He’s not mad. He’s very conscious. He had gone to the church auditorium four times. If it were madness, he would have given up when he went there the first time. He is very conscious. He planned it.”

He further noted that a mad person cannot express himself in such "chronological and unperturbed" manner before the court.

Therefore, he advised Ghanaians to stop patronizing the guy in his own failed assassination attempt.

Don’t let the guy play the victim. He’s not the victim…He convicted himself by his own utterances. He didn’t show any remorse…So; don’t let us make the guy be the victim," he stressed adding that treating the gunman as a mad person will open up avenues for any "psychopath somewhere also to take the same line of action".
