Tottenham Hotspur striker Emmanuel Adebayor is set to join Aston Villa after undergoing a medical at the club’s training ground.

ESPN FC reported on Monday that Villa were confident of securing a move for Adebayor with both clubs in advanced talks over a loan deal.

Tottenham are willing to let Adebayor leave with the Togo international not figuring in Mauricio Pochettino’s long-term plans at White Hart Lane.

Adebayor was not included in Tottenham’s squad for their preseason tour of the U.S. so that he could resolve his future.
