Weve Put Money Issues Behind Us

Head coach of Ghana’s senior women’s national team, the Black Queens, Yussif Bazigi, has stressed that his charges, have put aside all monetary issues and are concentrating on getting the job done against Cameroon in the second leg of their Olympic Games qualifier at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday.

Sources close to the team have disclosed to Today Sports that the Black Queens have so far not received any of their promised bonuses since the start of the qualifiers but Bazigi remains adamant, the girls can weather the storm against the Lionesses.

Speaking in an interview, the Sekondi Hasaacas coach disclosed that he has spoken to his girls and they are ready to put all issues of money behind them.

“We have put money issues behind us because the game ahead of us is a crunch one and we can’t afford to lose concentration,” Yussif Bazigi said.

“I have spoken with them and they are ready to let that go for now. They know government will pay and so that should not be an issue in the first place,” he added.

Speaking about their opponent, Bazigi said  Cameroon are no push-overs and so fans should not see the Saturday game as a done deal all though, the Black Queens managed to hold them to a 1-1 draw in Yaunde a fortnight ago.

“It is true we managed a 1-1 draw there, but that doesn’t make it a done deal. If we had a 2-0 or 3-0 advantage, then we can say it’s a done deal. But even that, sometimes, its over-0tuirned,” he stated.

“Even though any win or a goal-less draw will see us through, people shouldn’t call it a done deal at all” he added.

The Black Queens will on Saturday host Lionesses of Cameroon in the Olympics Games Qualifier at The Accra Sports stadium.
